What snacks I take when I travel

Over the past few years I’ve become a bit of a packing pro. And something I always make sure to have on hand is healthy snacks. Whether I’m traveling around the world or across town you can trust that there is something in my purse!

I’ve noticed something interesting, especially in my travels just this year – it’s actually becoming easier to find healthy options in transit! Airports, hotels and certainly restaurants have had some really unique and delicious snacks and meals – fresh fruits and veggies, nuts and fish seem to be more available, and I know it’s in response to the demand from people like the JSHealth community!

That said, I like to have options and it can certainly save money to bring your own snacks when possible. These are the snacks I like to take when I travel:

  • Homemade energy bars – the Healthy Muesli Bars in my book The Healthy Life are absolutely delicious!
  • Raw walnuts and almonds
  • Protein balls or bliss balls – these Cookie Dough Balls are so decadent
  • Chai tea and chamomile tea bags
  • Pana chocolate
  • Green apples
  • Goji berries
  • Green powder sachets – for a nutrient boost
